Acompa\u00f1ado por <strong>Lawrence de Arabia <\/strong>(ver foto inferior) , Faysal (futuro Faysal I de Irak 1921-1933) comenz\u00f3 la ofensiva contra las tropas otomanas en la actual Jordania. Con la asesor\u00eda de Lawrence, desarroll\u00f3 una estrategia que era adecuada para el terreno, la capacidad y el n\u00famero de hombres de que dispon\u00eda: los rebeldes libraron una guerra de guerrillas que aterroriz\u00f3 a sus enemigos y fue gan\u00e1ndose el reconocimiento de otras tribus, que se le fueron uniendo. El tr\u00e1fico en ese tramo, es decir, al sur de la actual frontera entre Arabia Saud\u00ed y Jordania, no volvi\u00f3 a abrirse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pasados los a\u00f1os y siendo Jordania un pa\u00eds independiente, se decidi\u00f3 a principios de los a\u00f1os 70 ( entre 1972 y 1975 ), la construcci\u00f3n de una conexi\u00f3n ferroviaria entre las minas de potasa del interior de Jordania y la ciudad costera de Aqaba. Para ello se reutiliz\u00f3 el ferrocarril de Hiyaz, reconstruyendo las zonas m\u00e1s da\u00f1adas, y realizando ligeras variantes de trazado en ciertos puntos. El tramo usado para el transporte de potasa, reutilizado de la l\u00ednea f\u00e9rrea otomana, part\u00eda de las minas de Al Hasa, al norte de Ma&#8217;an, hasta llegar a Batn Al Gul, punto en el cual la l\u00ednea original se dirig\u00eda hacia la actual Arabia Saud\u00ed, construy\u00e9ndose un nuevo ramal en v\u00eda \u00fanica hasta Aqaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El tramo completo se explota en v\u00eda \u00fanica no electrificada. Las caracter\u00edsticas principales de esta l\u00ednea son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Distancia total ( Minas de Al Hasa &#8211; Aqaba ) : 293,34 km<\/li><li>Ancho de v\u00eda: 1050 mm.<\/li><li>N\u00ba total de t\u00faneles : 2 ( 116 metros en total )<\/li><li>Pendiente M\u00e1xima: 26,7 mil\u00e9simas.<\/li><li>Radio m\u00ednimo: 125 metros.<\/li><li>Longitud m\u00e1xima de apartadero: 450 metros<\/li><li>Apartederos disponibles: 18<\/li><li>Altura m\u00e1xima sobre el nivel del mar: 1141 metros.<\/li><li>Explotado el servicio con 23 locomotoras di\u00e9sel de General Electric: &nbsp;U17, U18, U20, y C24, y 212 vagones para transporte de potasa en servicio en el 2012.<\/li><li>Material transportado en el 2011: 2.055.204 Toneladas de fosfato.<\/li><li>Minas
